EclipseUML 2008 gives you the full JEE MDD power.
You can use the evaluation Studio license and upload the following project.

Let's have a look at the Advanced JEE modeling with spring, Hibernate and Struts code generation tutorial.

We agree that it is not a easy concept trying to add the glue between presentation, service and persistence layers directly at the modeling stage.

Note that this example is only working if you donwload EclipseUML 2008 for Java EE Modeler !!

How to use this project:

Step 1: Unzip the project on your hard disk. It will create a folder.
Step 2: Click in the package explorer > Import > Generale > Existing Projects into workspace (select the unzip project)
Step 3: Have a look in the diagram and don't forget to open the documentation View in order to get an explanation on each element of the diagram. To open the documentation View you just need to click on the diagram background > Show View > Documentation
Step 4: Select the CarManiUML.uml file (the one having the omondo logo) in your package explorer > JEE UML Code Generation > Build All Components
Step 5: Create a new AndroMDA project (it will create the skeleton of your application in your package explorer)
Step 6: Select this project and deploy the JEE code


You will need less than 5 minutes to upload this model, and generate your code.
Note that this is example is not using any Java Classe at the modeling stage.

HI,
I have tried your sample example provided in the forum.i tried that sample in both uml2008 and uml2007.its generating all the codes. but final ear file is not generated.
That is the only problem i am facing.

And i want to create manully ,i created all class and sate diagram.i am facing error on this step.

The «ListCarsController » class role is to get the car list and display the information by the presentation layer.
o Visibility is public
o Return type : void
o Parameters type : java.util.collection

i can't set collection type.

Hello,
Which cartridges did you choose for your code generation that i can reproduce your problem?
To set a collection type, open the method's properties dialog, add a parameter and Click on the Browse Button to choose the collection type (See the picture).

The ear is generated under the projectName-app/target.
If you can't find it, you can send me your project to support@omondo.com that I have a look at it.
Don't forget to mention the cartridges you used for the generation.

Hello everybody,
Those who have tried to deploy the ear file after the code generation should have encountred a problem.
This is our fault cause we used special chars in the comments of our model that the ejb-jar parser does not recognize.
We have changed those chars, and now you should be able to generate your code, to deploy and to execute your application.
